It depends — 10,500 W gas / 9,975 W propane running, 13,000 W starting, 120/240 V open-frame conventional; 14-50R with 43.75 A running at 240 V; floating neutral; electric start, CO shutdown; 74 dB, about 246 lb
For a house with a 50 A inlet and a 240 V well pump: 10,500 W running on gasoline, 9,975 W on propane. The 13,000 W in the name is starting watts.
Exact model XP13000EH (UPC 811640015725). Not the gasoline-only XP13000E, the DuroStar DS13000EH, or the live inverter DuroMax XP11000iH.
Open-frame conventional generator, wheel kit. DuroMax 500 cc OHV engine at a fixed 3,600 rpm, carbureted, AVR. Electric start (12 V battery included), recoil backup, no remote start.
Fuel: gasoline in an 8.3 gal tank, or propane (40-lb tank minimum; hose and regulator included).
Outlets: two 120 V 5-20R GFCI, one 120 V L5-30R, one 120/240 V L14-30R, one 120/240 V 14-50R, and a 12 V outlet. The 43.75 A DuroMax lists is the generator's rated running current at 240 V on gasoline (10,500 ÷ 240), not the 14-50R's 50 A rating.
Grounding: the manual says floating neutral; DuroMax's install page pairs that with a standard 2-pole transfer switch. A Generator Bible owner reported continuity, so have the electrician meter neutral to frame before wiring.
CO sensor and low-oil shutdown (product page); not a substitute for a CO alarm.
DuroMax's documents conflict:
Noise: 74 dB (page; manual <74 dB), distance not stated. Warranty 3 years.
Price: US$1,299.00 sale (list $1,699.00) on duromaxpower.com, checked 30 Oct 2026. Links: no affiliate.
Running watts first: 10,500 W gasoline, 9,975 W propane. Surge second: 13,000 W, motor starts only. Each 120 V leg carries about 5,250 W on gasoline (Outage Stack math); balance the legs.
DuroMax runtime: 17 h at 25% and 8 h at 50% per 8.3 gal of gasoline (page); 6 h at 50% per 40-lb propane tank (manual). A 72-hour outage needs about 35 gal of gasoline at quarter load, or about twelve 40-lb tanks at half load on propane (Outage Stack math).
Per Outage Stack's size table and the manual's wattage chart:
It depends. Buy it if you have or will install a 50 A inlet for a 240 V well pump and essentials, and any central AC's LRA fits about 54 A: 10,500 W running (43.75 A at 240 V) for US$1,299 on sale. Skip it if noise, CARB, or a one-person lift matters. Plan from 10,500 W gasoline / 9,975 W propane, never 13,000 W; meter the neutral before wiring.
